THE FUTURE WORKPLACE – ROLE OF FM
OPENING
Five years ago, the Global FM, a body of professional facilities management associations around the world, instituted the celebration every year of World FM day to create awareness, celebrate the profession and educate members on new thinking in FM. In Nigeria, starting 2010, I pioneered the celebration by doing a live TV program on TV Continental, with the then Lagos State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Communication, and in 2011, it was with the then Secretary of IFMA, Lagos, by 2012 it has become an industry practice with others companies joining.
OPENING
Today, following on the Global FM Theme for this year – Creating. Sharing. Learning, we have decided to engage ourselves on what our collective roles will be to support our clients – The Employees & management of our various organisation as the work place is changing. Adopting the theme – The Future Workplace – The role of FM
In February this year I attended a 3-Day programme organised by IFMA – Facility Fusion in the US, one of the major topics that I got attracted to was The Future Work Place.
This workshop is therefore to look at the changing trends in the world, impact of technology, changing demographics, changing business focus, the changing and the implication for work place design and management. We will listen to one of the experts on workplace design and management, a former IFMA President, Karthy Roper, I will steer the discussions and hope at the end of the day we can come up with areas of focus as organisations and as people working together.
In this room are FMs from various companies and with various experiences on the client side and FMs on the provider side principal my colleagues in the industry and office..
Please Connect, Share and Learn. I look forward to an engaging 4 hours together.
